Firemen’s Band Selected to Represent Pennsylvania at the America 250 Parade
In early November we received exciting news. The Kittanning Firemen’s Band had been selected to represent the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the July 4th, National Independence Day Parade in Washington DC. This is a special honor as this is the 250th Anniversary Commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The invitation was extended through the parade committee, Unite States Department of Interior and the National Park Service.
A full slate of performance and patriotic activities are planned for the band throughout the weekend. In order to make this historic event a reality, the band is launching perhaps it’s biggest fundraising effort to date. The band is also looking to have previous members return for this historic year in addition to recruiting new members.
